About The Position

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding Revolutionaries in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we seek an innovative and experienced Director, Global MSL Excellence to lead the development, standardization, and continuous enhancement of Medical Science Liaison (MSL)/Medical Advisor (“Field Medical”) capabilities across regions. Reporting into Medical Content and Training (MCT) within Global Medical Excellence, this role is a critical driver of global Field Medical strategy, performance, and operational excellence. The Director will design and implement frameworks, tools, processes, and training that strengthen the effectiveness, consistency, and scientific impact of the Field Medical organization. This highly visible role partners closely with Global Medical Strategy, Field Medical, Medical Content and Training, Medical Information, Clinical Development, Compliance, and regional Medical Affairs teams to ensure globally harmonized and high impact Field Medical roles.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent in life sciences).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in biotech/pharma Medical Affairs, with at least 5+ years in Field Medical or MSL Excellence leadership.
  • Demonstrated success developing global Field Medical strategies, competency frameworks, and learning programs.
  • Proven track record enhancing MSL effectiveness, insights processes, and scientific engagement quality.
  • Experience with global medical systems (e.g., Veeva PromoMats), digital enablement, data analytics, and process optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of medical compliance standards and inspection readiness best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology and/or precision medicine experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling Field Medical organizations during rapid growth or product launch phases.
  • Expertise in global engagement planning, medical impact metrics, and competency-based training models.
  • Familiarity with global healthcare systems and regional Medical Affairs nuances.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of a cohesive global MSL excellence strategy aligned with medical and corporate objectives.
  • Establish global standards for scientific exchange, insights generation, field activity execution, and external engagement.
  • Partner with regional Field Medical leaders to ensure consistency while enabling region-specific adaptability.
  • Develop and maintain a global MSL competency model, certification programs, and role expectations.
  • Partner with Medical Content and Training to design robust field medical onboarding programs and continuous learning curricula (e.g., journal clubs, reinforcement/verbalization trainings), including scientific acumen, communication skills, engagement planning, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with MCT to plan and execute integrated launch trainings, new data, congress preparation, and medical platforms.
  • Partner with Medical Analytics and Insights/Medical Solutions teams to streamline insights capture, governance, and analytics, driving high-quality, actionable intelligence into medical strategy.
  • Define KPIs and dashboards measuring MSL performance, impact, and scientific engagement excellence to foster continuous improvement.
  • Conduct quality reviews of field interactions, insights, and medical planning outputs; recommend improvements to enhance scientific value.
  • Oversee global processes supporting Field Medical, such as scientific engagement planning, territory management, stakeholder mapping, and compliant documentation.
  • Collaborate on digital transformation initiatives (e.g., Veeva PromoMats and CRM, Learning Management Systems, insights platforms, congress planning systems) to optimize Field Medical workflows and data visibility.
  • Ensure operational readiness for global milestones, launches, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to Field Medical leadership across regions.
  • Establish governance structures for Field Medical excellence, including global councils, working groups, and capability forums.
  • Collaborate with Medical Communications, Clinical Development, and other partners to ensure scientific alignment and integrated medical planning.
  • Ensure Field Medical activities adhere to global and regional regulations (FDA, EMA, GxP, ICH, PhRMA, Sunshine Act), company policies, and medical governance.
  • Support audit and inspection readiness activities for Field Medical operations.
