About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Global Safety & Security to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global strategy for Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Physical Security across all Red Wing Shoe Company (RWSC) locations. This role is responsible for shaping a strong, prevention‑focused culture and ensuring that the safety and security of our employees remains our highest priority. In this position, you will establish global policies, standards, and frameworks that strengthen operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and risk prevention. You will guide the design of people‑centered, business‑aligned safety and security solutions in close partnership with leaders across Supply Chain, Operations, HR, Facilities, and Business Technology. Your leadership will influence every aspect of our global operations, from occupational health and environmental management to workplace violence prevention, threat assessments, and enterprise physical security programs. You will oversee global risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions with a strong bias for action. This includes building and monitoring performance metrics that inform executive decision making and support continuous improvement. The role also leads global incident response efforts - ensuring coordinated, rapid, and visible leadership during safety or security events, and driving thorough root‑cause analyses that lead to sustainable corrective actions. A key part of this role is capability building. You will coach and guide leaders across regions, strengthening their understanding of EHS and security responsibilities and enabling a culture of shared ownership. You will also partner with business and strategy teams to embed safety and security considerations into facility design, capital investments, and global expansion planning. As a trusted advisor to executives and global stakeholders, you will provide strategic insights on emerging risks and ensure that RWSC maintains a mature, proactive, and globally consistent approach to safety and security.
