Working within Guest Marketing, you will lead the development of guest-centric, culturally relevant marketing strategies and plans that drive demand for the business, improve equity perceptions with our guest and build the Target brand. You will work cross functionally with marketing, merchandising and enterprise partners to bring strategic objectives that come to life across a marketing mix and guest experience touchpoints. Your commitment to partnership and collaboration will rally internal and external partners across functions to ensure alignment and progress towards common outcomes. As a Director, Guest Marketing - Holiday, you will lead a team of Marketers, leveraging your strong leadership skills to lead Holiday Marketing Strategy and Planning, providing oversight to concepts, nurturing ideas, and ensuring we have synergies and efficiencies to deliver integrated plans across the enterprise, while always evolving for the future. This role requires strong strategic acumen, deep curiosity, expert communication and problem-solving skills, team and enterprise leadership. Your ability to bring teams together to define future ways of working and multichannel playbook will enable smart innovation and learning for the full team.

Responsibilities

  • Understand how customers shop and use strategic thinking to editorialize stories and translate them into simple briefs that unlock experiences for our guest across site, store and external comms with focus on social.
  • Be a visionary constantly looking for ways to set us apart from the competition, driving new and enhanced ways to connect with our guests, on and off platform.
  • Use data and insights to make informed and impactful decisions and translate complex data into actions and improvements for internal partners.
  • Focus on operational excellence and getting the fundamentals right, identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
  • Have a deep understanding of the evolving media and marketing landscape and connect experiences and communications for guests and consumers across experience touchpoints (store, site/app, social and digital).
  • Build trust quickly and lead by influence, creating impact through partnership, cross-functional leadership, and ownership.
  • Prioritize the collective success of the team and mentor team members to increase capabilities and enhance skills, knowledge and performance.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of related work experience, e-commerce experience a plus.
  • Guest and consumer obsessed, comfortable making data-driven decisions and exhibit high judgement in the absence of data.
  • Deep expertise in digital and social and demonstrated ability to deliver innovative go-to-market strategies and activations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and varying levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and willingness to take on responsibilities outside primary job description when necessary.
  • Proven team leadership skills that showcase the ability to direct and coach a team through transformation.
  • Assertive, adaptable and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
