About The Position

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the assigned Imaging business unit, including oversight of daily operations and participation in system-level Imaging Service Center initiatives, projects, or programs as defined. Partner closely with hospital administration, imaging leadership, and physician leadership to support radiologists and imaging staff while advancing the mission, vision, and goals of UPMC and the Imaging Service Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration or related field and 7 years of relevant experience and 3 years of management experience
  • Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or related field and Completion of the Fellowship Program Graduate and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or related field and 5 years of relevant experience and 3 years of management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and leaders at all levels
  • Flexibility in supporting operational needs across the organization
  • ARRT or RN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership and support to imaging staff and radiologists within the assigned business unit.
  • Oversee staff performance management, including timely completion of performance evaluations, goal setting, and development plans to support ongoing professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of courtesy, respect, professionalism, and engagement with patients, staff, medical providers, and visitors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the imaging department and hospital administration, medical staff, Patient Care Services, referring physicians, and other hospital departments.
  • Support leadership in the planning and implementation of operational, quality, and system-wide initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures in collaboration with local hospital operations and the Imaging Service Center.
  • Stay current on advancements in imaging practices and technology; provide leadership in patient, staff, and community education. Support research initiatives as applicable.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including volume, productivity, and profitability metrics. Implement strategies to improve efficiency, enhance revenue, and control costs.
  • Lead operational and capital budget development, ensuring alignment with departmental goals, organizational priorities, performance standards, and financial constraints.
  • Analyze operational data and trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the business unit.
  • Establish priorities, goals, and objectives for departmental and system initiatives in alignment with hospital and Imaging Service Center priorities; define and report outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of patient and staff satisfaction, accountability, empowerment, and problem-solving.
  • Lead or manage system-wide imaging initiatives, projects, or programs as assigned by the Imaging Service Center.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting bodies, including TJC, ACRO, DOH, CMS, OSHA, and DEP, as well as adherence to organizational policies and all local, state, and federal regulations.
