Position Overview: The Director, Institutional Giving leads revenue generation from government agencies, corporations, and family foundations. The role manages prospecting, proposal development, proposal submission, and reporting for corporate partnerships, family foundations, and government grants partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Public Healthcare.
  • 5+ years of experience, with proven success in institutional fundraising acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with government grant writing.
  • 5+ years of experience with securing large gifts over $100,000
  • Ability to work EST hours.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an institutional fundraising strategy spanning government, corporate, and foundation audiences.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate new institutional funding sources (foundations, corporations, government) and manage existing relationships.
  • Write, edit and oversee compelling grant proposals/applications, letters of intent, sponsorship decks, and renewal packages in collaboration with internal stakeholders, project managing the entire cycle.
  • Proactively seek out and oversee government grant compliance and reporting processes in partnership with the consultant, Finance, and Programs, with a target annual revenue of $2.5m.
  • Grow corporate philanthropy partnerships, sponsorships, matching gift programs, and employee engagement initiatives in partnership with the development team.
  • Align on matching gift strategies with Technology Fundraising Solutions Manager, Digital Fundraising Manager and Marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with the Development and Marketing & Communications Teams to produce compelling proposals, case statements, impact stories, and funder materials.
  • Conduct institutional prospect research using CRM insights and external tools.
  • Maintain funder relationships through meetings, site visits, customized stewardship, and reporting.
  • Track institutional fundraising progress and prepare updates for organizational leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
