Director Inventory Control
About The Position
Medline is seeking a Director of Inventory Control to lead field inventory operations across one of the largest healthcare distribution networks in the United States. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and operational excellence of more than $4B in inventory supporting over 50 distribution and transshipment facilities nationwide. This leader will oversee a team responsible for driving inventory accuracy, identifying root causes of discrepancies, and partnering closely with operations leaders to implement process improvements that strengthen operational performance and customer service. The Director will also play an important role in supporting Medline’s evolving SOX and compliance framework, ensuring that inventory processes and controls meet the standards of a publicly traded company. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands-on operations leader who enjoys solving complex problems, developing people, and improving processes across a large and dynamic distribution network.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in inventory control, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations
- Experience leading teams in warehouse or multi-site distribution environments
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and variance investigation
- Experience working with SAP and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Experience supporting SOX controls and audit processes
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive operational improvements
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team responsible for inventory control execution across Medline’s national distribution network
- Partner with operations leaders to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues
- Oversee cycle count programs, inventory variance investigations, and operational root cause analysis
- Develop and implement inventory control tools, reporting, and process improvements
- Drive adherence to SOX controls and compliance standards related to inventory accuracy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Quality teams to strengthen operational processes
- Mentor and develop inventory control leaders and build organizational capability across the network
