About The Position

Job Details Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory Operations Vice President, the Laboratory Services Director of the Central Region is accountable for the daily technical and administrative operations of the Clinical Laboratories at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Methodist Hospital, Einstein Philadelphia Hospital and Asplundh. Directs the various administrative functions of the Clinical Laboratory and Pathology sections including personnel, finance, materials management, facilities, capital equipment and other operational activities. Job Description Essential Functions: Directs, plans and manages in alignment with the department, hospital, system and enterprise goals. Organizes and coordinates services provided, oversees operations, and manages staff and budget in accordance with hospital's policies and procedures. Overseeing the Full Range of Administrative Functions including Financial Performance (strategies, policies, budgeting and operating planning analyses, revenue cycle management, financial planning, analysis and decision support); department performance reporting; department compliance and management control. Will take the lead role in ensuring strong overall financial performance results and must ensure that the entire team’s efforts are focused on achieving agreed upon performance objectives. Space Planning (facility planning, strategy development and implementation; oversight of facilities where clinical services are provided. Workforce Planning, with a focus on strong operational and financial performance by having the right people, in the right numbers, doing the right jobs (talent management, succession planning, recruiting, orienting, developing and retaining staff, ensuring compliance with all labor laws addressing employee safety issues). The Clinical Pathology Operations Director will work on interdisciplinary teams and projects to further the overall goals of the organization.

Requirements

  • B.S/B.A. in Biomedical Sciences/Medical Technology or equivalent.
  • 5 years of supervisor experience.
  • Proven ability to organize and administer multiple sections of the laboratory.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous managerial experience preferred.
  • ASCP, NCA or equivalent preferred.
