As the Director of Learning & Development, you’ll shape the vision and execution of L&D for 19,000+ associates across all T+L Co. business segments. You’ll partner closely with HR and senior leaders to deliver impactful development solutions aligned with company strategy. You’ll lead our corporate university (Destination U), oversee key development programs, and manage a team of four L&D Managers while working in alignment with broader talent management initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, or related fields
  • 8–12 years in L&D/OD strategy, facilitation, coaching, program design, and team leadership.
  • Strong background in adult learning, instructional design, and blended learning.
  • Skilled facilitator (in-person and virtual), coach, and project manager.
  • Experience using learning technology (Zoom, Teams) and evaluating learning impact through data.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Preferred certifications: ATD, SHRM, HRCI, project management, Gallup Strengths®.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Prioritization Set annual L&D priorities aligned with company strategy and HR initiatives, with a focus on Associate Engagement, Leadership Development, and Organizational Capability.
  • Oversee the enterprise learning calendar, program enrollment, and completion tracking for new associate onboarding, continuous education, and ready-to-grow career progression.
  • Collaborate with the VP of L&D to integrate development with talent management, performance, succession, and engagement work.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and partner with Corporate Communications on messaging.
  • Partner with regional and departmental training teams.
  • Use learning and performance metrics as well as storytelling to demonstrate L&D’s value to the business.
  • Facilitation & Consultation Serve as a strategic consultant to HR and business leaders on development needs.
  • Lead the design, facilitation, and evaluation of Destination U curriculum and custom solutions.
  • Support leaders with tools such as CliftonStrengths®, Hogan®, 360s, and New Leader Transition resources.
  • Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop a high-performing L&D team with clear goals, coaching, and career support.
  • Build a culture aligned with our mission, Strategic Pillars, and HEART values.
  • Ensure the team stays informed on business updates and priorities.
  • Financial Oversight Manage the L&D budget, including forecasting, tracking, and cost-conscious decision-making.
