About The Position

Corbion is seeking a Logistics Director, North America based in Lenexa, KS. The ideal candidate has the ability to function well in a fast-paced team environment, leading and coordinating across multiple functions including Operations, Commercial, Customer Service, Finance and Procurement. A strong background in logistics, excellent leadership and project management skills and attention to detail are essential to success in this role. As the Logistics Director, North America, you will report to the Global Logistics Sr. Director and be a member of the Leadership Team for Global Logistics. You will have overall responsibility for our high-level transportation and warehousing, and distribution activities in the US and Canada. In this role, you will work closely with Commercial and Operations Departments to ensure the right products are at the right place at the right time and delivered to our customers with outstanding quality and service. It is essential that this leader continually drive to improve the performance of the team, the systems utilized, and of the cost efficiency of logistics in both working capital and operating costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics management or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics with at least 5 years in a senior role managing multiple disciplines including warehouse and distribution, preferably from a food or food ingredient industry.
  • Collaborate effectively and lead cross-functional teams with strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of success in warehousing, logistics, distribution management, and process improvement.
  • Experience working with SAP, preferably SAP4Hana (Order to Cash, EWM/WMS etc).
  • Successful background in B2B industries within complex supply chain structures.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.

Nice To Haves

  • An MBA and/or profession certification (PMP, CPM, APICS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and strategic contribution to the Global Logistics Leadership Team by taking part in the development and execution of the Global Logistics vision and strategy to realize the Global Logistics business goals.
  • Manage the Logistics team in North America (4 direct reports and 40 indirect reports).
  • Oversee logistics resources in the US and Canada, whether internal or external (including third party warehouses, transport providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers) to ensure the end customer, distributor or other Corbion companies to be delivered on time, in full, and according the Corbion quality standards and service levels, keeping in mind cost.
  • Responsible for day-to-day logistics operations including shipments and flows within the region, exports from NA to the rest of the world and imports into NA.
  • Partner with the procurement team to drive the negotiation and contracts of all warehousing and carrier (road and rail) contracts.
  • Own and manage the logistics fixed and freight cost budget.
  • Work with supply planning and demand planning management to ensure logistics resources guarantee service levels to customers and support business growth.
  • Represent logistics in regional S&OP and quarterly commercial meetings.
  • Search, map and develop operational setup of new supply chain activities and logistics providers.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities with implementation, optimization and cost reduction of new and existing supply chains.
  • Oversee logistics projects and represent the region in global logistics projects.
  • Closely collaborate with logistics counterparts in the other regions to share best practices and find synergies.
