About The Position

The Director of Manufacturing Operations Excellence will lead and steer strategic initiatives to mobilize operations excellence programs and manufacturing processes within the perishable foods industry. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement programs, leveraging data-driven methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste, maximize efficiencies, and quality at the factories, supply chain, engineering and other functional areas across the enterprise. The director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement best practices and innovative solutions that support business growth and customer satisfaction. This role will have the opportunity develop and mentor team members to elevate manufacturing capabilities to meet evolving market demands and sustain competitive advantage in the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain operations.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or higher) or equivalent operational excellence credentials.
  • Proven track record of leading operational excellence initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Strong leadership experience managing multi-site manufacturing teams and complex projects.
  • Experience with digital manufacturing technologies and data analytics platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cultural change and employee engagement in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a robust and comprehensive manufacturing operations strategies that align with the organization's growth and financial goals.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other process optimization methodologies to enhance efficiency and cost improvements.
  • Monitors production performance metrics, analyzes operational data, and implements corrective actions to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and sustainability of optimal manufacturing processes with supply chain, quality, and engineering functions.
  • Mentor team members to learn, adopt, and practice a continuous improvement mindset and strengthen a culture centered on operations excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive the rigor and discipline for monthly metrics for supply chain and operations to deliver on savings, waste reduction, and speed of delivery to customers
  • Travel required to factories to effectively observe, analyze, diagnose, and build sustainable, repeatable, programs for operational excellence
