Our evidence-based, culturally appropriate, trauma informed behavioral health services address the diverse needs of those we serve. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Administrative Services has senior-level responsibility for the operational success, coordination, and integration of assigned administrative and clinical support departments, programs, and projects. This position plays a key leadership role in providing direction and oversight for internal operations that support clinical service delivery, ensuring efficient, effective, and compliant administrative infrastructure. The Director is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of systems and processes that meet strategic goals, support organizational culture, and are consistent with FBH’s Mission and Vision. The Director works collaboratively with executive leadership to support integrated care initiatives, operational alignment, and a population health approach, while fostering strong relationships with external partners including MCOs, SCRBHASO, and community stakeholders, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Behavioral Health, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, administrative services, or related healthcare management is required.
  • The Director of Administrative Services must possess strong operational acumen, leadership intuition, and systems-thinking capability.
  • The position requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and support clinical operations through effective administrative infrastructure.
  • The individual must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to foster accountability and collaboration across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community-based behavioral health is strongly preferred.
  • Ten or more years of relevant, progressively responsible professional experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point person for all Administrative Services-related issues across the organization.
  • Provide direction, strategy, and oversight for assigned administrative and clinical support departments, ensuring operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Identify process improvements, policy or procedure updates, and operational enhancements related to Administrative Services; recommend changes to the CEO and implement approved improvements.
  • Problem-solve and resolve daily operational issues as well as foundational system-level challenges affecting administrative or clinical support functions.
  • Assist with the organization and coordination of interdepartmental operations to improve workflow, communication, and operational integration.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement projects and operational improvements across departments in alignment with strategic initiatives and organizational priorities, while demonstrating sound judgment to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as FBH’s Mission and Vision.
  • Support clinical operations by ensuring administrative systems, workflows, and support services effectively enable high-quality service delivery.
  • In collaboration with the CEO and executive leadership, support integrated care efforts and operational alignment across service lines.
  • Represent FBH at system-level workgroups and community meetings, as assigned, to support operational and service integration efforts.
  • Support and advance FBH’s role in integrated care initiatives by fostering partnerships and collaborative systems with primary care providers and community health partners.
  • Participate in contract development and renewal discussions with primary care partners, and other funding entities as applicable; ensure operational alignment with contractual expectations and oversee timely, accurate contract reporting requirements related to service delivery, performance metrics, and integrated care initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to assigned departments and direct reports, instilling an environment of accountability, professionalism, and achievement.
  • Regularly monitor progress toward departmental and organizational goals and conduct written annual evaluations.
  • Provide guidance and leadership through management, coaching, training, and leading by example.
  • Foster a positive work environment, address employee concerns, and resolve problems in collaboration with Human Resources as needed.
  • Act as a primary facilitator of communication between stakeholders, departments, and leadership teams.
  • Foster collaborative relationships that enhance operational effectiveness and support clinical service delivery.
  • Execute other duties and responsibilities as requested by the CEO.
  • Assume additional key roles related to strategic initiatives, system development, or operational transformation efforts, as assigned.
