About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the aircraft maintenance and systems functions. This is an executive-level position that reports directly to the CEO. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Aviation Management or related field
10+ years of MRO/Completion experience with at least 1 year of experience in the capacity of approving an aircraft for return to service, leadership development, and supply chain
10+ years of experience as a manager in an aircraft manufacturing or VIP completion setting
Demonstrated knowledge or certification in one or more of the following continuous improvement systems: Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing, TQM or equivalent
Strong understanding of aircraft component production functions, procedures, and standards
Knowledge of quality control standards and systems
Well organized with strong planning and management skills
Attention to detail
Quality orientation
Able to organize multiple projects simultaneously
Strong problem solving abilities
Able to use all related production equipment and applications
Must be able to read, write and speak Standard English for routine business correspondence and for producing work products
Must be able to adhere to all established safety policies, processes and procedures
Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

Directs the aircraft maintenance and systems functions
Develops and implements short and long term goals and objectives
Develops and implements Department policies and procedures and ensures that they support and complement Company-wide strategic objectives
Supervises and directs all assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance. Manages personnel decisions in conjunction with HR including hiring, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions; Conducts performance appraisals as required; Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed.
Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies. Ensures that policies are updated and in accordance with evolving production and quality standards.
Participates in budget development and bid preparation
Monitors and supervises Production and Aircraft Maintenance quality. Identifies problems and resolves them quickly and effectively
Regulates work flow to ensure maximum production capacity. Monitors the floor production schedule to ensure that deadlines are met.
Writes procedure documents and completes related reports and records
Ensures that Production and Aircraft Maintenance functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards
Works closely with purchasing, engineering, and aircraft manager to maintain schedules and implement changes and revisions in operational procedures
Stays informed of developments and changes in aircraft sheet metal and Maintenance techniques and methods
Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
