About The Position

Cox Farms is a fast growing $1 billion revenue business with 3,100 employees and >12 facilities across the United States and Canada. We are undertaking the transformative process of unifying two operating segments into one way of working in a highly complex, dynamic environment where operating excellence is a requirement, not a nice to have. Business Process Architecture, part of Cox Farms Strategy, Business Operations, and Excellence is a new, yet incredibly important capability. The Director of Business Process Architecture will act as the enterprise operating system designer and owner — defining standard processes, clarifying accountability, enabling cross-functional execution, and embedding durable ways of working that improve performance and resiliency. You will lead this function, partner directly with senior leaders and a third-party consulting team to co-create practical, implementable operating models and ensure Cox Farms can independently sustain and evolve them. This role is expected to grow the function over time and expand as the organization scales with success.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years in either Management consulting, focused heavily on operational/financial transformation or Operational excellence transformation leadership roles
  • Direct experience in manufacturing, food/agriculture, or asset-intensive environments required.
  • Strong process modeling and documentation discipline
  • Led cross-functional process or operating model redesign efforts.
  • Demonstratable experience in applying change management principles in large-scale transformations.
  • Designed and implemented practical process standards and governance.
  • People leader
  • Has created or rebuilt operating standards inside a real business environment — not just advised from the outside.
  • Can take a stated objective and define the specific routines, standards, and accountabilities required to deliver it.
  • Ensures new ways of working are adopted, reinforced, and sustained across teams and facilities.
  • Knows when to standardize and when flexibility is required in asset-intensive, operational environments.
  • Comfortable in plant environments and executive settings; able to influence without formal authority.
  • Brings clarity, organization, and consistency to complex, informal operating environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define end-to-end process architecture across core functions (Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, HR, Commercial)
  • Map current-state workflows and identify variation, inefficiencies, and gaps.
  • Design practical future-state processes that work within today’s constraints.
  • Develop aspirational designs that inform longer-term improvements.
  • Partner with the PMO to establish clear roles, ownership, and RACIs.
  • Establish repeatable review mechanisms to assess process health.
  • Embed ownership of standards within functional leadership.
  • Support change adoption and reinforcement.
  • Build internal capability that reduces reliance on external consultants.
  • Build and maintain process documentation standards (SOPs, playbooks, templates)
  • Own the company’s process repository and knowledge system.
  • Ensure outputs are simple, usable, and adopted.
  • Facilitate cross-functional design workshops with leaders and SMEs.
  • Align stakeholders with differing priorities and constraints.
  • Translate strategy into practical execution.
  • Coach teams on adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Define business process requirements that inform ERP, BI, and system configuration.
  • Partner with Digital/IT to ensure technology supports defined operating standards.
  • Maintain clear ownership of business architecture independent of system design.
