About The Position

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and oversight of all clinical operations for Suite Living Hospice Care. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant, patient-centered hospice care in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Director provides clinical leadership to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), supports quality improvement initiatives, participates in organizational planning, and maintains a small patient caseload to remain clinically engaged.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota, in good standing with no disciplinary actions.
  • Minimum 3 years of hospice experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, interdisciplinary care, pain and symptom management, and end-of-life care.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage clinical operations, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with QAPI programs, infection control, and chart auditing.
  • Experience balancing clinical leadership with operational and business responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership, supervision, and support to RNs and CNAs.
  • Serve as an on-call clinical leader approximately 5 days per month.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload of 4-5 hospice patients as assigned.
  • Assist clinicians with complex clinical decision-making, care planning, and symptom management.
  • Promote hospice philosophy, compassionate care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Facilitate and lead bi-weekly Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective care coordination.
  • Assist with patient eligibility determinations, referrals, and admissions in collaboration with the Medical Director and intake team.
  • Maintain monthly infection control logs and present findings as part of the QAPI program.
  • Participate in and speak to QAPI meetings quarterly, presenting data, trends, and improvement plans.
  • Conduct monthly chart audits, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, Medicare, and hospice regulatory requirements.
  • Support survey readiness and corrective action planning as needed.
  • Train and orient new clinical hires, ensuring competency and adherence to hospice standards.
  • Assist with screening, interviewing, and selection of clinical applicants.
  • Assist in the planning and administration of in-services and continuing education programs.
  • Mentor clinical staff to promote professional growth, accountability, and retention.
  • Oversee clinical-related business operations including management of supplies, DME, and pharmacy coordination.
  • Monitor utilization and cost-effectiveness of clinical resources while maintaining quality care standards.
  • Collaborate with administrative leadership on operational planning and process improvement.
  • Participate in policy and procedure development and revision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership to support organizational goals.
