Marana Health is seeking a Director of Dental Services to join the Dental team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in Marana, Arizona. The Director of Dental Services (Director) provides guidance and mentorship to all staff and, through leadership of the department, aids staff with the business development of the daily operations of the department. As a practicing Dentist, the Director promotes and maintains patients’ health by providing dental services and clinical supervision of staff. The following qualifications are required: Doctor of Dentistry degree Current Arizona State DDS/DMD license Current DEA registration and registration in the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy’s Controlled Substances Prescription Drug Monitoring program 5 years’ experience leading a dental team at a professional level, to include selection of top talent, employee development, and retention Experience managing profit and loss and productivity measures and holding team accountable for results Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with Marana Health upon hire) Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire) Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by Marana Health) The following qualifications are preferred: Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) Experience with mobile dental services Experience with strategic planning and implementation Bilingual (English/Spanish) Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job. This position has the following supervisory responsibilities: Manages and monitors work performance of a division or department through direct reports and their teams, including evaluating work objectives and effectiveness, establishing broad organizational goals, and provisioning work and staffing assignments for the department. The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations. Able to perform a wide variety of assignments requiring independent judgment. Strong knowledge of process improvement and facilitation, excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to meet and deal effectively with patients, associates and the general public. Excellent interpersonal management and ability to work with all levels of personnel. Budget preparation expertise and ability to meet operational budget requirements. Ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external leaders, partners, suppliers, and customers. Excellent understanding of computers and able to produce meaningful reports. Ability to cultivate a culture of respect and service excellence through professionalism, skilled communication, and demonstrated commitment to integrity, trust, respect, and equity. Proven effective leadership with demonstrated ability to effectively direct, delegate, motivate, and build high-performing, collaborative teams. Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions.
