About The Position

Beacon Mobility Corp. The Director of Information Technology manages the company’s IT platform. This position promotes all aspects of IT, both hardware and software. Managing the work of other IT professionals and teams as well as working with other senior leaders is of paramount importance to this role. Job Description: Head of Engineering (Beacon Technology Hub) Location: Remote (US Based) Travel: Occasional travel to Jordan and Egypt (as needed) Preferred Languages: English, Arabic (required) Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Engineering / Head of Engineering Delivery to join the Beacon Technology Hub team In this role, you will serve as a key technical anchor for our custom application ecosystem, which powers critical operations in high-needs transportation. You will function as an embedded member of our global engineering squads and oversee engineering delivery across distributed teams in Jordan and Egypt, ensure architecture and engineering standards are consistently applied and working hand-in-hand with technical leads in Jordan and Egypt to build, scale, and optimize the software that ensures safe and reliable transport for the most vulnerable populations.

Requirements

Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years leading engineering teams and holding end-to-end technical authority for delivery and quality.
Architecture: Proven track record driving architecture direction and technical standards across multi-team products and/or platforms.
Quality Ownership: Demonstrated ability to define, enforce, and measure engineering standards (design reviews, code reviews, testing expectations, security controls, and operational readiness).
Global Collaboration: Strong experience leading distributed engineering teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
Technical Versatility: Comfortable guiding end-to-end execution across backend, frontend, cloud-native infrastructure, integrations, and data modeling—without needing to be the primary implementer.
Stakeholder Readiness: Able to represent engineering capability in executive and customer-facing settings, including audits, technical diligence, and sales-cycle technical discussions.
Cloud & Data: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Firestore (NoSQL) data modeling.
Backend: Experience with .NET Core (C#) and Node.js.
Frontend: Experience with Angular and React.
Mobile: Familiarity with Kotlin, Swift, or React Native.

Nice To Haves

Arabic Language Skills: Verbal and/or written proficiency is a strong differentiator.
Domain Knowledge: Experience in Logistics, Fleet Management, or Healthcare Transportation.

Responsibilities

Technical Authority & Engineering Leadership Partner with offshore Engineering Operations to build and maintain a solid technology hub strategy, capacity planning, and resource allocation across projects.
Partner with Architects to drive architecture and technical design decisions across the Beacon Technology Hub platform and services.
Set, enforce, and evolve engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, and maintainability.
Lead technical planning and execution oversight with Technical Managers and Tech Leads to ensure consistent delivery outcomes.
Establish clear engineering decision-making, documentation, and review practices (design reviews, ADRs, HLs, code review standards, engineering playbooks).
Guide engineering quality outcomes, including reliability, scalability and performance.
Identify opportunities to improve developer experience and reduce operational friction through better tooling, workflows, and automation.
Execution Oversight Across Distributed Teams Oversee day-to-day technical execution across global engineering teams, ensuring delivery remains unblocked across time zones.
Provide strong technical direction during investigations, root cause analysis, and stabilization efforts for production-impacting issues.
Ensure consistent technical handoffs between US hours and offshore hours to maintain continuous delivery and predictable releases.
Partner closely with engineering operations and technical leadership to translate roadmap and priorities into executable technical plans.
Hands-On Technical Engagement Remain hands-on as needed on high-risk areas: architecture spikes, complex feature design, critical technical issues, performance and scalability improvements.
Guide implementation of complex features across our core platforms (.NET/Angular and Node/React), including service boundaries and integration patterns.
Partner with software, data, integrations and infrastructure architects on complex software solutions, cloud-native patterns in GCP, and data modeling to ensure sound implementation decisions.
Drive consistent peer review and collaboration practices to reinforce best practices, clean coding principles, and secure-by-design implementation.
Platform Modernization & Cloud-Native Excellence Govern the technical approach for data modeling, event-driven patterns, and service integration across the platform.
Ensure security architecture, access patterns, and authorization models are applied consistently across services and applications
