About The Position

Director of Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing Accounting and Treasury functions including the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements ensuring that reports, filings, and documentation comply with internal and external regulations and adhere to GAAP as well as oversees all cash management processes. This position is directly involved with leading company wide strategic initiatives and acts as the departmental liaison to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ accounting and/or relevant work experience; transportation and logistics industry a plus
  • 3+ years of managing a team; accounting/finance supervisory experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience utilizing ERP systems; Oracle Cloud experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of generally accepting accounting practices (GAAP) and relevant regulations
  • Advanced Excel knowledge required; Macro and coding knowledge (VB.NET) preferred
  • Proven experience deploying strategic initiatives which impact multiple company-wide functions
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to create and implement business process improvements
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to use sound judgment
  • Must possess the ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and maintain discretion on confidential matters
  • Previous experience with Financial Management and Business Intelligence software; Power BI a plus
  • Previous experience McLeod and Cargowise Transportation Management software a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and reviews the periodic close including the preparation of financial statements
  • Oversees the Treasury team and assess effectiveness of the company’s cash utilization while reviewing/leading the development cash management strategies
  • Oversees strategic initiative implementations to achieve both financial and non-financial targets to include Oracle Cloud related deployments (EPM/ACRS/FCCS)
  • Oversees departmental process improvement initiatives and ensures compliance is met with current process documentation and cross-training
  • Confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly recorded
  • Coordinate, review and consolidates all Financial Reporting deliverables, including Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements
  • Coordinates and assists in the preparation of complex financial and non-financial models to help drive executive decision making
  • Reviews a variety of complex accounting, statistical, and narrative statements and/or reports requiring extensive analysis and interpretation of data
  • Analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department and organization
  • Provides actionable analysis and insights to feed strategy development and facilitate decision-making
  • Oversees departmental accounting systems and controls; deploys revisions and new processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Understand and apply departmental, legal and regulatory requirements; interpret and analyze complex fiscal data and draw logical conclusions, detecting possible weaknesses of internal control and recommend revisions
  • Coordinates and provides support for internal and external financial and tax audits, including assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes and supplemental information
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or provide financial advice to internal Business Partners
