About The Position

The Director of Information Technology will lead McLane Global’s enterprise technology strategy, internal IT team, and key technology platforms supporting global operations. This role oversees a small but specialized IT team alongside external technology partners, driving innovation and operational excellence across the organization. The Director of IT will play a central role in shaping the company’s technology roadmap, strengthening cybersecurity, and enhancing the digital infrastructure that supports supply chain operations, customer integrations, and logistics systems. A key focus of the role includes the development, management, and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O), Dynamics CRM / PowerApps, Transportation Management Systems (TMS) — preferably TMSFirst — and integrations across customer and vendor systems. The Director of IT will also oversee the company’s custom digital platforms, including the Customer Web Portal, while guiding strategic initiatives in cybersecurity, electronic integrations, and digital customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including 5+ years managing enterprise business systems and technology teams.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) or similar enterprise ERP platforms.
  • Experience managing internal IT teams and external technology partners (MSP, MSSP).
  • Experience with enterprise integrations, including EDI and API frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Microsoft Power Platform experience including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI.
  • Supporting ERP, CRM, and logistics data integrations.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution environments.
  • Leading digital platform initiatives such as customer portals or e-commerce systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an internal IT team responsible for cybersecurity, electronic integrations, reporting, and application development.
  • Oversee relationships with external technology partners including Dynamics 365 support vendors, Managed Service Providers (MSP), and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP).
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to internal and external technology teams while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with accounting, sales, logistics, warehouse, procurement, and production teams to ensure technology supports operational needs.
  • Oversee the administration, continuous improvement, and strategic development of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) across the organization.
  • Ensure the platform supports procurement, purchasing, production planning, inventory management, sales operations, and supply chain processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve system utilization, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Support integrations between Dynamics 365 and other systems, including TMS, internal applications, CRM, and customer portals.
  • Guide use of Microsoft Power Platform tools including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI to support workflow automation and data-driven insights.
  • Promote best practices for reporting, dashboards, and operational analytics.
  • Ensure proper data governance, platform documentation, and system scalability.
  • Lead the company's cybersecurity strategy, policies, and incident response processes.
  • Oversee selection and management of an MSSP providing 24/7 security monitoring.
  • Strengthen infrastructure, security protocols, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Support long-term expansion of internal cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Ensure seamless EDI and API integrations with customers, vendors, retailers, logistics partners, and eCommerce platforms.
  • Manage onboarding and connectivity to support sales orders, purchase orders, shipment data, and inventory visibility.
  • Establish integration standards, monitoring processes, and data governance practices to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Oversee development and enhancement of McLane Global's proprietary customer portal and digital platforms.
  • Ensure integrations between ERP, logistics systems, and external platforms operate reliably and securely.
  • Support digital tools that enhance product sourcing, supply chain visibility, and overall customer experience.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking IT strategy aligned with McLane Global's operational and growth objectives.
  • Lead enterprise technology projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Identify technology opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience, and competitive advantage.
  • Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and system implementation partners while coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
