About The Position

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead our technology vision, operations, and security across a multi-site, mission-driven organization. This role oversees all enterprise systems—including Yardi, Salesforce, network infrastructure, hardware lifecycle management, property onboarding technology, and external IT partners —ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver and strong communicator who builds trust, coaches teams, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive IT leadership, system administration, or IT operations experience.
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Yardi, Salesforce, and cloud-based services.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, networking, and device management.
  • Experience managing vendors or managed service providers.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical needs into business outcomes.
  • Ability to travel to sites across Sacramento, Yolo, Solano, and San Joaquin Counties
  • Must pass criminal background screening, including education verification and DMV check.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic IT Leadership Develop and execute an organization-wide IT strategy that supports current operations and future growth.
  • Oversee core systems (Yardi, Salesforce, network infrastructure, device management) across multiple legal entities and a growing property portfolio.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies—including AI and automation—to improve efficiency and reduce operational burden.
  • Build strong relationships with staff and leaders, positioning IT as a strategic partner during organizational change.
  • Systems Management, Infrastructure & Security Lead IT infrastructure strategy for a geographically distributed organization, ensuring secure, stable, and scalable systems.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity, data protection, and access control standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT services, software, and hardware.
  • Oversee deployment, configuration, and support of systems and hardware (computers, VOIP, network equipment).
  • Serve as backup administrator for critical systems and coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure continuity and security.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, implementations, and major IT projects with minimal disruption to frontline operations.
  • Leadership & Team Management Supervise, mentor, and develop two full-time staff: IT Manager and Yardi Support Specialist.
  • Represent IT on the Leadership Team and contribute to cross-departmental planning.
  • Prepare and manage the IT budget, aligning investments with organizational priorities.
  • Lead IT’s role in risk management, compliance, and technology governance.
