About The Position

Comfrt is expanding internationally, opening retail stores, and continuing to scale our e-commerce business. We are seeking a Director of Merchandising to lead our global merchandising strategy and bring analytical discipline, market intelligence, and omni-channel expertise to the business. This role sits at the intersection of product, analytics, and market insight. As the Director of Merchandising, you are the chief analytical architect of our global product strategy. You translate complex market signals, consumer trends, and business performance into a cohesive roadmap that balances brand vision with commercial rigor. Serving as the primary strategic partner to Product Development, you provide the data-driven framework that guides innovation and shapes the product roadmap. You ensure that every product innovation translates into a disciplined, high-performing assortment that scales across markets. This is a hands-on leadership role. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and engaging in the details of product development execution while maintaining a high-level strategic view of category growth and product direction.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of merchandising experience within fashion, apparel, or lifestyle brands, ideally with experience in both high-growth startups and larger brands.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, or a related field.
  • Proven experience operating at the Director level or higher, scaling businesses across multiple markets.
  • Ability to balance strategic category leadership with the day-to-day operational details required to bring product to market
  • Deep expertise in e-commerce with experience supporting physical retail expansion.
  • Advanced capability in both e-commerce and retail metrics; you are comfortable making hard calls based on financial data.
  • Strategic thinker who balances brand vision with disciplined commercial decision-making.
  • Possesses a growth-oriented mindset—constantly identifying whitespace, translating insights into opportunities, and building clear strategies to expand the category.
  • A humble, team-oriented leader who builds strong partnerships across the organization.

  • Build pricing frameworks and margin structures in collaboration with Finance, Buying and Product that support sustainable growth.
  • Own Product Lifecycle Management: Make final, data-driven decisions on style exits and carryovers based on sales performance and financial results.
  • Ensure the right product mix, depth, and timing across DTC, retail, and international distribution.
  • Develop channel-specific assortment strategies as the company expands globally.
  • Partner with Product Development to pressure-test line plans through data and market insights.
  • Guide seasonal and long-range assortment planning aligned to financial targets.
  • Own global analysis of sell-through, margin performance, and inventory productivity.
  • Lead end-of-season reviews and in-season performance insights to inform future strategy.
  • Translate analytics into clear, actionable insights for Product, Creative, Marketing, and Executive teams.
