About The Position

For more than 25 years, Monte Nido has delivered proven treatment for eating disorders. Our programs offer a model of treatment that blends medically sophisticated care with a personalized treatment approach. Our treatment setting is intimate with a high staff-to-client ratio, and an emphasis on individual therapy and highly individualized treatment. Monte Nido is in search of a Director of Nursing to oversee our nursing functions across multiple states in a designated territory. This role will be based remotely and will travel 50% +/-. This position reports to the VP of Nursing. The Director of Nursing will play a crucial role in ensuring that the highest standards of patient care, nursing practice, and regulatory compliance are maintained across the organization.

Requirements

  • Active RN license; must hold (or be eligible to obtain) a multi-state compact license. Additional state licenses required per the company's needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with progressive leadership roles.
  • Experience working in behavioral health required.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel +/- 50%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an eating disorder program strongly preferred; experience working in behavioral health required.
  • Experience working in a multi-site organization is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with a dispersed team strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with the Joint Commission and regulatory standards compliance is desired.
  • Ability to manage budgets and utilize KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices
  • Experience in employee recruitment and performance management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to nursing staff across multiple facilities. Promote a culture of excellence in nursing practice, patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Regularly travel to designated facilities within the territory to assess nursing operations, clinical quality, and compliance. Provide on-site training, support, and resources to nursing teams, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on state and federal regulations related to nursing practice and healthcare standards.
  • Stay updated on healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with facility leaders to ensure compliance and readiness for inspections and audits.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify issues, analyze potential solutions, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Actively provides consultative support to program nurse managers and nursing staff through consistent supervision and training initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, patient outcomes, and safety protocols to drive continuous enhancement of care delivery.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and revision of nursing policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensure consistent adherence to best practices and evidence-based guidelines. Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Functions as leader of MN nationwide through representation at industry events, participation in national leadership, and always engaging in professional relationships.
  • Supports and implements organizational infection control design.
  • Works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team.
  • Works with operational and program leaders to coordinate targeted support, including virtual consultation and on-site presence when needed to address clinical, quality, or compliance gaps.
  • Ensures consistent implementation of nursing best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates closely with the VP of Nursing to secure vendors, implement agreements and contracts, and monitor ongoing performance and compliance.
  • Collaborates closely with the VP of Nursing to supervise the application and renewal processes for CLIA Waiver Certificates, lab services, biomedical, and pharmacy services.
  • Prepare regular reports on nursing performance, patient outcomes, and compliance for executive leadership.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure complete documentation compliance and collaborate with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Providing safe, affirming, and empathetic support across multiple populations
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned.
