About The Position

As the Director of Purchasing, you will lead the company's procurement strategy, overseeing the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of supply chain management, vendor relationships, and cost optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to contribute to the company's overall success through effective purchasing strategies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated background in luxury hospitality, fine dining, or premium consumer goods; deep understanding of quality-first procurement in an elevated service environment.
  • Proven track record negotiating complex supplier agreements and managing multi-category spend.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with hospitality procurement or ERP systems (e.g., Birchstreet, Coupa, Oracle Materials Management, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end OS&E (Operating Supplies & Equipment) procurement for hotel pre-opening, developing and executing a phased sourcing plan that aligns with the construction handover schedule, department opening timelines, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with all department heads — Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Engineering, Housekeeping, and Events — to build comprehensive OS&E budgets and itemized specifications lists, ensuring every operational area is fully equipped from day one.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive purchasing strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing and bidding to contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
