About The Position

The Director of Recovery oversees the overall success of all Substance Use Disorder programming in a manner that is consistent with RS EDEN’s mission and vision. The Director is the principal manager of all Recovery Services programming and sites, responsible for driving clinical outcomes and fiscal performance while ensuring a positive environment for participants, staff, and community stakeholders. RS EDEN specializes in serving a population with complex, multi-systemic, and multi-generational trauma. The work of recovery and healing is a critical part of our mission and our vision. It is required that the Director of Recovery will have a License in Drug and Alcohol Counseling or equivalent. Professional experience and a personal understanding of substance use disorders, and fields related to reentry, homelessness prevention, and mental health is essential. Success is only possible if the leader of our Recovery Services carries a passion for justice and equity and believes whole-heartedly in second chances. They should also have a strong orientation towards the process and understanding of a fee-for-service business model. They will crave collaboration because they believe teams are stronger than individuals and will  be excited by the prospect  of building and improving programs.. Leadership in the industry of substance use treatment requires the highest degree of personal and professional aptitude, including an approach that balances the need for constant innovation and adaptability alongside an attitude that is both energizing and yet reassuring, even in the midst of crisis. The ability to exercise effective time management, respectful boundaries, and sound judgment is essential. A candidate must be able to devote the time and energy required, but understand the personal and organizational value of successful prioritization and collaboration in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Requirements

  • 4 yr. degree in counseling, management or related field; graduate degree preferred
  • Current LADC, mental health license preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated expertise in administering 245G services
  • 5 years of treatment experience including program management
  • Excellent management and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills including previous EHR experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to success

Responsibilities

  • Directs all aspects of Recovery Services
  • Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates Admissions Supervisor, Support Specialist Supervisor, and Clinical Supervisor
  • Models, maintains, and coaches exemplary ethical and professional program standards
  • Serves as the Program Area spokesperson
  • Builds and works to continually support a therapeutic, trauma responsive and inclusive environment, one that has the capacity to nurture the strengths of individuals and facilitate a holistic understanding of recovery for all those who come into contact with it
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with our 245G substance use disorder (SUD) Treatment Program Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Provide general clinical and program oversight and the management of the day-to-day operations of programs. Lead oversight and monitoring of:
  • Program census: monitor each counselor’s caseload size based on their abilities.
  • Group capacity: ensure each group reaches its 16 client capacity.
  • Client retention: ratio of scheduled clients versus attending clients and counselor’s ability to maintain clients ongoing.
  • Provider productivity: ensure staff are aware of and achieve direct service time weekly
  • Supports special teams and projects including Quality Improvement, Client Satisfaction, and Utilization Review
  • Promote participant and community wellbeing, while maintaining security, safety, and compliance standards of all sites as assigned and in accordance with all relevant policies and regulations
  • Exercises a high degree of overall skill related to communication and follow-through with tasks
  • Ensure program follows data privacy practices including maintaining participant confidentiality per HIPPA and 42CFR
  • Facilitates and supports trainings, in-services, and continuing education as required per licensing and as part of staff development and growth
  • Reviews all incident and accident reports, grievances, and physical/emotional safety concerns related to the facility sites and program functioning and facilitates process by which teams analyze areas of improvement and set forth plans for improvement
  • Sets performance goals related to deliverable services and monitors progress on goals
  • Supports special teams and projects including Quality Improvement, Participant Satisfaction, and Utilization Review
  • Other duties as needed
