As the Director of Resident Services for West Campus, you will serve as the principal management point of contact with residents, resident committees, and resident activities in matters affecting the quality and enjoyment of life at Blue Skies of Texas (BST). Exercises overall management responsibility for campus Resident Services operations, including Environmental Services, Transportation and Catered Living, Front Desk, Beauty Salon, and Life Enrichment, and directly supervises the leaders of those departments. Partners with Maintenance, Dining Services, and Wellness leadership to ensure coordinated service delivery and operational alignment in support of residents. Assists the Director of Wellness with resident issues, including those of a sensitive or complex nature. Through leadership, collaboration, and operational oversight, the Director of Resident Services supports a safe, well-coordinated, and service-oriented Independent Living environment while fostering meaningful engagement and community life. What you will do in this role: Serves as primary management lead for Resident Services departments on the campus and provides leadership and direction to department managers and supervisors. Develops, implements, and monitors operational and training plans with associated budgets designed to provide comprehensive support and service to residents. Serves as principal point of contact for residents and resident-led committees and activities. Collaborates with Maintenance, Dining Services, and Wellness leadership to coordinate services impacting the resident experience. Provides editorial oversight of resident-facing communications used by management, including newsletters, in-house television channels, and resident engagement platforms. Partners with the Director of Maintenance in the development and testing of emergency action procedures affecting residents and staff. Serves as a designated first responder for resident-related incidents and emergencies in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Coordinates orientation for new residents and provides guidance for Independent Living staff training initiatives. Functions as campus point of contact for internal control compliance, including cash handling, risk management, and applicable policies and procedures. Supports preparation and monitoring of departmental operating budgets within Resident Services. Participates in inspection readiness and certification efforts as defined by federal, state, and organizational requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with only general supervision, exercise mature judgment and be detail-oriented and able to function in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Requires the ability to prioritize and control multiple tasks simultaneously, lead and work harmoniously in a team environment, and provide excellent customer service to BST residents, visitors, employees, and management, as well as maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards.
  • Possess strong communications skills and is able to speak, read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Strong editing and composition skills required.
  • Possess the ability to manage efficiently and effectively human, financial, and materiel resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a Senior Living environment.
  • Strong management and supervisory experience and excellent customer service skills.
  • Must possess working knowledge of basic office equipment and computer skills, to include the Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an environment serving seniors exclusively.
  • Certified Senior Advisor is desired.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) and First Aid may be required.
