About The Position

Hermann Services Inc. seeking an experienced hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead our technology strategy and operations across our multi-location logistics organization. This is a strategic leadership position focused on vendor management, risk governance, and providing technical guidance to C-level executives as the organization continues to scale. The ideal candidate will serve as the technology owner for the organization, coordinating complex IT services delivered by third-party vendors while ensuring alignment with business objectives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or combination of education and experience (Required)
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure certifications, ITIL, CISSP, or PMP (required)
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing C-level relationships and providing strategic technology guidance.
  • Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution industry.
  • Experience with IT service management frameworks and vendor governance best practices.
  • Background in supporting rapid organizational growth and expansion initiatives.
  • Strong history in project management.
  • Deep understanding of IT administration for: Windows domain, Microsoft Office 365 technologies, and Azure cloud platform (including deployment, governance, and optimization), VOIP, SQL Server oversight, and LAN & WAN (Required).
  • Expertise in SDWAN technologies and multi-location network architecture, including Azure connectivity and hybrid networking.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, SOC/SIEM operations, and risk management principles.
  • Familiarity with enterprise wireless infrastructure and multi-site support models.
  • Data extraction for operations reporting.
  • Repair and troubleshoot IT equipment.
  • Repair and troubleshoot network issues.
  • Work directly with business application support.
  • Proven track record of successful vendor management and service delivery optimization.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to present complex technical information to non-technical executive audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align technology investments with organizational objectives.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and developing governance frameworks.
  • Collaborative leadership style with ability to influence and coordinate across organizational boundaries.

  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and logistics technology ecosystems (Preferred).
  • Understanding of logistics and warehouse operations, including technology requirements and operational workflows (Preferred).
  • Experience supporting multi-location organizations with distributed warehouse and office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technology advisor to C-level executives, translating complex technical concepts into business impact and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and communicate IT strategy that aligns with business growth objectives and operational needs across warehouse and office locations.
  • Present technology roadmaps, risk assessments, AI & Digital transformation initiatives, and investment recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Lead technology planning for business expansion, including new warehouse and office location requirements.
  • Manage relationship with primary IT infrastructure vendor responsible for SOC/SIEM, Help Desk, network operations, wireless infrastructure, and M365/Azure support.
  • Oversee Warehouse Management System (WMS) vendor, ensuring system performance, integration, and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Establish and enforce service level agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and accountability standards for all technology vendors.
  • Coordinate vendor activities to ensure seamless integration between infrastructure, applications, and business operations.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee cybersecurity posture through vendor-provided SOC/SIEM services, ensuring appropriate threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Conduct technology risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies across all locations and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data protection requirements, and internal governance policies.
  • Lead incident response planning and business continuity initiatives for technology systems.
  • Oversee multi-location network infrastructure including SDWAN deployment and Azure connectivity across warehouse and office locations.
  • Ensure optimal performance and reliability of Azure-hosted business applications and M365 environment.
  • Monitor and optimize WMS / TMS performance to support warehouse & transportation operations and business growth.
  • Manage technology budgets, forecast infrastructure needs, and optimize IT spending.
  • Directly manage and develop a support technician(s), providing guidance and professional growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with vendor teams to ensure effective support delivery and knowledge transfer.
  • Other relevant projects & duties as assigned by management.
