About The Position

Director of Therapeutic Services Job Summary: As the Director of Therapeutic Services, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing all therapeutic services and supports for students, individuals in our adult programs, and staff. You will provide strategic direction, clinical expertise, and operational management to the therapeutic services staff, while also collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide services and support. Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Develop and implement a strategic vision for therapeutic services, aligned with the agency's mission and objectives. Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of counselors, social workers, BCBAs, and other clinical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide guidance and support to staff members in the development and implementation of individualized behavior plans. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation process for therapeutic services staff. Review and finalize all incident reports, ensuring appropriate tracking, analysis and follow up. Provide leadership to the Adult Services PBS (Positive Behavior Supports) Committee. Lead the threat assessment process as needed. Provide and coordinate training and support for topics such as wellness, grief, sexuality, transition, suicide awareness and prevention, substance abuse, etc. Coordinate Safety-Care training throughout the agency. Program Development and Evaluation: Design, develop, and enhance therapeutic programs and services, ensuring they are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and meet the needs of the target population. Monitor program outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and implement improvements as needed. Stay abreast of the latest research, best practices, and emerging trends in therapeutic interventions and incorporate them into program development. Clinical Oversight: Ensure the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services that adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and relevant regulations. Provide clinical supervision and consultation to counselors, promoting professional growth and ensuring the delivery of effective and ethical interventions. Coordinate and deliver supports as necessary, including grief groups, crisis debriefing, etc. Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with other agency departments to ensure the integration of therapeutic services with other programs and initiatives. Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, referral sources, and funding agencies to enhance service provision and promote resource sharing. Represent the agency in relevant community forums, conferences, and meetings to promote awareness and advocate for therapeutic services. Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field such as psychology, counseling, social work, or a related discipline.
  • Licensure as a mental health professional is strongly preferred.
  • DESE Licensure as a School Adjustment Counselor required.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a human services agency, preferably in a therapeutic or clinical setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care approaches.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, ethical guidelines, and accreditation standards governing therapeutic services.
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and social justice principles.
