About The Position

The Director Operations Finance is a strategic and hands on finance leader responsible for driving financial performance, operational excellence, and strong financial controls across a multi plant manufacturing network. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership, overseeing all aspects of operational FP&A, multi site controllership, cost management, and capital investment. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with deep plant level execution capability and is willing to spend significant time on site with plant teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including Operations Finance, Plant Controllership, or Manufacturing FP&A.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and internal controls in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence senior operations leaders.
  • Experience managing or supporting multi plant finance teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience within CPG, industrial, or similar sectors.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong communication and executive level presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Operations and Supply Chain leaders, providing insights on productivity, cost structure, capacity planning, and capital efficiency.
  • Lead scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and investment evaluations for key operational decisions.
  • Own operational P&Ls and drive performance management for all operational KPIs.
  • Lead monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range planning for Operations
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights on financial results, variances, trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Build and continuously refine tools, dashboards, and predictive models to improve operations visibility and forecasting accuracy.
  • Oversee full controllership for several manufacturing plants, ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to accounting policies, and strong internal controls.
  • Lead and support plant finance teams responsible for cost accounting, inventory controls, production reporting, and local financial governance.
  • Ensure robust inventory management practices including cycle counting, standard cost updates, scrap tracking, and reconciliation accuracy.
  • Partner with Plant Managers to provide operational insights and financial leadership at each site.
  • Identify and drive cost reduction and productivity initiatives across the network.
  • Lead analysis of COGS, manufacturing variances, overhead absorption, and other key cost drivers.
  • Support evaluation of automation, process redesign, sourcing changes, and footprint initiatives.
  • Own financial evaluation, prioritization, and governance of capital projects across multiple plants.
  • Lead capital planning, forecasting, approvals, and post investment reviews.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and ensure proper capitalization, tagging, and depreciation.
