About The Position

Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to lead facilities maintenance efforts for a significant portion of the Building Services team with responsibility for all US stores. The Director, Operations Process role manages an extensive number of vendors to deliver major capital replacement projects, reactive repairs, and recurring maintenance services for our stores. This includes effectively managing a combined P&L and capital budget of approximately $800M. The position leads our efforts across numerous facilities trades, including lighting/electrical, HVAC, janitorial, roof, and fire systems. The Director, Operations Process is a key contributor in setting the strategic direction for the team and driving innovative solutions that are critical in creating a safe, sustainable, high-performing environment for our customers and store associates and ensuring that our stores remain a competitive advantage. This role requires preparation and delivery of presentations and to all levels of the organization to communicate strategy, goals, and initiative timelines and results.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • Proven financial analysis and business acumen.
  • Strong understanding of Operations and area of expertise.
  • Able to easily influence others.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent skills in communication and leveraging partnerships to benefit project objectives.
  • Proven track record in management and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • 4 years management experience at The Home Depot preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with others across Home Depot to ensure operational areas are considered in project plans.
  • Coordinate responsibilities of Operations Managers and Analysts.
  • Support and partner with Operations Strategy Team in developing, staffing, piloting and implementing process improvements within the stores.
  • Responsible for the overall project work flow and roll-out schedule in regard to operational area.
  • Measure impact of changes and new projects on operational area.
  • Remain up-to-date on operational area of expertise to meet requests for improvement and practice continuous process improvement.
  • Partner with Field Implementation Managers to establish project metrics and tollgates in relation to operational expertise.
  • Use expertise in strategic thinking and process design to drive successful improvements in operational area; work toward quick implementation and quick return on investment.
  • Evaluate needs of multiple project requests and impact on operational area, aggregate data gathered by Operations Analysts and ensure needs of projects are met.
  • Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff.
