Job Overview The Director, Performance Marketing & Growth oversees TerraCycle’s digital expansion. This role will be tasked with turning a multi-million dollar advertising budget into profitable revenue and will design, implement, and scale the full-funnel paid media strategy across our core business lines and our investor acquisition efforts. This role requires a data-driven, analytical professional who will be focused on bottom-line impact.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in performance marketing, with a demonstrable track record in DTC/e-commerce.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop internal talent or lead significant external agency partnerships.
  • Technical expertise: Advanced proficiency in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and GA4 for comprehensive analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical drive: Ability to translate results into clear, and concise narratives for executive-level stakeholders and your peers.

Nice To Haves

  • Capital markets exposure (preferred): Experience supporting a company through a Reg-A, Series B, or other significant funding/capital raise round is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Budget management: Command and optimize a multi-million dollar annual budget, making data-backed decisions across Google (PMax, Search, Shopping, YouTube) and Meta to maximize efficiency.
  • Experimental rigor: Develop and execute a continuous, aggressive A/B testing roadmap encompassing landing pages, promotional offers, and strong creative assets.
  • Acquisition expansion: Identify, evaluate, and scale new customer segments and sales channels to increase e-commerce conversion and attract new investors.
  • Meta and social: Act as the lead strategist for high-efficiency paid social campaigns, with a focus on creative testing velocity and the utilization of advanced tools such as Meta Advantage+.
  • Search and video optimization: Drive scalable growth through YouTube video action campaigns while maintaining a disciplined approach to high-intent branded search.
  • Bottom-line profitability: Maintain a relentless focus on ROAS, CPA, and gross margin to ensure all growth initiatives contribute directly to the bottom line.
  • Attribution and analytics: Be the internal authority on marketing measurement. Partner with Product and IT departments to ensure the accuracy of analytics implementations, leveraging GA4 and incrementality testing to provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Team development: Lead and mentor two direct reports (Paid social specialist and Search/analytics specialist), setting clear KPIs and fostering an environment of technical excellence.
  • Performance-driven creative: Facilitate the feedback loop between data and creative. Collaborate with peers from Content and Creative to translate performance metrics into strategic briefs for high-impact creative production.
