About The Position

This senior leadership role is designed for an experienced project management professional to drive enterprise-wide execution excellence in new product development and strategic initiatives. The Director, Project Management will oversee a global portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy, prioritization of resources, and timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. This position serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership while enabling cross-functional teams—including R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Regulatory—to collaborate effectively. You will define and scale project management frameworks, enforce governance standards, and cultivate a high-performing team of project managers. The role emphasizes operational rigor, portfolio visibility, and risk management within a regulated environment, making it a critical driver of growth and innovation. It offers a unique opportunity to shape enterprise-level project execution and influence business outcomes on a global scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required.
  • 10–15+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years leading teams of project managers or program leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience in IVD design and development within U.S.-regulated environments, including knowledge of FDA design controls.
  • Proven ability to operate at portfolio and enterprise levels and influence senior leaders effectively.
  • Strong strategic thinking, execution discipline, and risk management skills.
  • Expertise in cross-functional leadership, executive communication, and decision facilitation.
  • Experience building high-performing teams and scaling organizational capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-level governance and execution oversight for global project portfolios, including new product development, lifecycle initiatives, and strategic programs.
  • Establish portfolio visibility, track dependencies, manage risks, and support prioritization decisions for leadership.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve project management frameworks, tools, and stage-gate processes.
  • Act as escalation point for high-risk or complex cross-portfolio issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Partner with functional leaders to ensure accountability, clear ownership, and effective cross-functional communication.
  • Lead trade-off discussions and course corrections to keep projects on track and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Develop, coach, and scale a team of project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and strategic thinking.
