About The Position

The Director of Proposal Services leads a high‑performing team responsible for delivering world‑class sales collateral that drives growth and retention across Workplace Investing (WI). You will oversee Sr. Proposal Consultants and Team Leads who support sales pursuits and client retention across all WI products and segments, from CORE to Strategic. In this role, you provide strategic direction and daily leadership, serve as a primary escalation point for Sales and Managing Directors, and implement strategies that elevate quality, efficiency, and overall sales effectiveness within the Sales Optimization, Acceleration, and Retention (SOAR) organization. Your mission: create an exceptional sales and retention experience for clients and prospects while fostering meaningful career development and vitality for your team. WI Sales is a fast‑paced, collaborative environment focused on winning new business and retaining clients. The SOAR organization plays a critical role by showcasing Fidelity’s customer focus, industry expertise, innovative technology, and exceptional participant and plan sponsor experiences. The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $145,000 per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation. Requirements

  • Deep experience in retirement plan recordkeeping and benefits administration within WI.
  • Broad product knowledge across WI offerings and client segments.
  • Proven success collaborating with sales teams, relationship managers, and consultants.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing individuals, teams, and process‑improvement initiatives.
  • Experience setting team goals aligned to organizational needs and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and managing uncertainty with confidence.
  • Strong presentation development skills, including structure, content, and delivery.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%.
  • Extensive experience mentoring, developing, and leading talent in a growing sales organization.

  • Strong relationship‑building skills and a leadership style rooted in empathy and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely, high‑quality completion of RFPs that support new business wins and client retention.
  • Manage high volumes of fee benchmarking activities to ensure competitiveness.
  • Ensure service‑level adherence, optimal use of automation, and consistent quality across the sales lifecycle.
  • Monitor operational performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and growth.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives that support key WI Sales and SOAR strategic priorities.
  • Coach and develop associates to deliver excellent experiences to clients, prospects, and internal partners.
  • Influence stakeholders, anticipate needs, and resolve issues through structured problem‑solving.
  • Serve as principal for assigned registered representatives, ensuring compliance with securities standards.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, controls, and operational standards.
