Sodexo is seeking a Director, Segment Finance to support our Campus Segment. This strategic leadership role oversees financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operational finance support across a diverse and complex portfolio. The Director will manage professional staff and/or supervisors and will be accountable for the performance, development, and results of the segment finance team. At the highest level, this position partners with senior segment leaders to shape and influence finance strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The Director will lead key financial disciplines including accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, auditing, budgeting, and forecasting, working both independently and in partnership with Centers of Excellence. This role provides critical oversight and direction to Unit Finance teams and plays a major part in optimizing results and operational performance within the Campus Segment.

Requirements

  • Progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives to influence strategy and drive results.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt plans and priorities in response to shifting business needs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, tools, and Microsoft Excel.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience – 5 yearsMinimum Functional Experience – 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a high-performing finance team supporting the Campus Segment, providing coaching, direction, and performance management.
  • Partner closely with senior segment leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee all financial processes including general accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights to support decision-making, operational improvements, and profitable growth.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and support to Unit Finance teams to ensure compliance, consistency, and accuracy across the segment.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence on systems, reporting, analytics, and financial tools.
  • Monitor financial performance, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and recommending solutions.
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address operational needs, resource challenges, and evolving business requirements.
  • Utilize established policies, procedures, and business plans to guide decision-making while innovating when appropriate.
  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert to employees, colleagues, and internal partners
