About The Position

The Director of the Simulation Education Center provides strategic and operational leadership for the health system’s simulation-based education programs. The role oversees simulation curriculum and faculty development, management of simulation facilities and equipment, program performance measurement, and regulatory compliance to support patient safety and workforce readiness. This position also serves as the leader for the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center, ensuring adherence to AHA standards and continuous improvement in resuscitation education and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) within 6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) - Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH)

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes a system-wide simulation strategy aligned with our core values of safety, teamwork, compassion, and excellence.
  • Serves as the executive leader for simulation-based education and training across the enterprise.
  • Provides comprehensive oversight of all simulation-based education and training programs.
  • Serves as the accountable leader for the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center, ensuring full compliance with AHA standards, instructor oversight, course documentation, audit readiness, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads system-level resuscitation quality strategy and partners with clinical and operational stakeholders to integrate simulation findings into performance improvement initiatives, improving code response outcomes and skills retention.
  • Directs operational management of simulation facilities, staffing, scheduling, and technology while maintaining budget accountability, capital planning oversight, and performance metrics tied to utilization and return on investment.
  • Recruits, develops, and leads high-performing simulation educators and technologists; establishes competency standards, career pathways, and faculty development programs to ensure instructional excellence.
  • Oversees acquisition, lifecycle management, and strategic deployment of simulation equipment and audiovisual systems in collaboration with IT, Biomedical Engineering, and Facilities.
  • Establishes performance metrics to evaluate educational effectiveness, learner competency, and organizational impact; provides executive reporting and drives continuous program improvement through data-informed decision making.
  • Maintains internal and external strategic partnerships; ensures alignment with regulatory standards and represents the healthcare system externally.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
