About The Position

About Salesforce Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all. Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce. Salesforce and Google Cloud have embarked on a groundbreaking partnership worth $2.5 billion to revolutionize customer relationship management (CRM) through advanced artificial intelligence (AI). By integrating Google's Gemini AI models into Salesforce's Agentforce platform, we're enabling businesses to harness multi-modal AI capabilities—processing images, audio, and video—to deliver unparalleled customer experiences. You will have the unique opportunity to work at the forefront of IDP, AI and cloud computing and contribute to enabling a full suite of Salesforce applications on Google Cloud. You will get an opportunity to build a platform on GCP to enable agentic solutions on Salesforce. Our Public Cloud engineering teams are responsible for innovating and maintaining a large scale distributed systems engineering platform that ships hundreds of features to production for tens of millions of users across all industries every day. Our users count on our platform to be highly reliable, lightning fast, supremely secure, and to preserve all of their customizations and integrations every time we ship. You will need deep experience of delivering large scale systems, and experience of owning service at very high scale in efficient and automated way.

Requirements

  • Engineering Leadership: 5+ years leading software development teams with a track record of delivering technically demanding products at scale.
  • Modern Infrastructure Mastery: Deep experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform or Pulumi, to drive "software-defined" infrastructure.
  • Polyglot Engineering Background: Extensive experience in Golang or Python. You view infrastructure through the lens of a software engineer and prioritize automation over manual intervention.
  • Matrix Navigational Skills: Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries. You know how to build consensus, manage "dotted-line" relationships, and unblock teams in a complex corporate structure.
  • Cloud-Native Stack: Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Service Mesh (Istio), and public cloud networking/security primitives.
  • Software Rigor: A strict adherent to engineering best practices: unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, modular design, and robust abstractions.
  • Academic Foundation: Masters/Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Vision & Strategic Alignment: Lead the vision for enabling a full suite of Salesforce applications on Google Cloud. This requires a high degree of "architectural diplomacy" to align roadmaps across disparate geographies and cloud business units.
  • Navigate a Highly Matrixed Environment: Drive execution by mastering the Salesforce matrix. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders—including Infrastructure, Security, and Product owners—to deliver unified results without always having direct authority over every contributor.
  • Lead a High-Performance "Builder" Org: Hire, nurture, and lead a world-class team of 10–15 engineers. You are responsible for delivering production-grade cloud frameworks, infrastructure automation tools (IaC), and validation platforms that define our public cloud presence.
  • Technical Stewardship & Deep Dive: Remain technically "in the weeds" to guide architects and product owners. You will ensure that services built at B2C scale are resilient, modular, and optimized for a multi-cloud future.
  • Influence & Governance: Lead with influence to encourage innovation while making critical decisions on risk and scalability. You will be a key voice in Architecture Councils, presenting your vision to executive leadership.
  • Culture & Diversity: Maintain our high bar for talent by fostering an inclusive culture and hiring with an eye toward diversity and "Culture Add."
  • Agile Leadership: Serve as a strategic leader for 1–2 Scrum teams, ensuring high velocity and quality while occasionally contributing to coding or feature verification to maintain your technical acumen.
