About The Position

Position Description: Builds and maintains digital product offerings and custom client software solutions according to Agile methodologies. Manages complex software projects and initiatives within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) according to Agile methodologies. Implements and adopts modern technologies to build and deliver innovative end-user experiences and tools. Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Builds and improves full-stack software applications using Cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services (AWS). Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing complex Oracle database applications within an asset management environment.
  • Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing complex Oracle database applications within an asset management environment.
  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building and enhancing full-stack software applications within Asset Management and Investment Operations environments using Amazon Web Services (AWS), focusing on scalable Cloud solutions.
  • DE designing and implementing high-throughput data pipelines and scalable Data Application Programming Interface (APIs); enabling seamless data movement from Operational Data Stores (ODS) using Oracle, Informatica, PL/SQL, Unix Shell scripting, and Python; engineering resilient APIs for a Common Data Platform, using Java, Spring Boot, and Webflex, for data ingestion and distribution; and deploying AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) with components -- ALBs, Route 53, EC2, S3, and EFS, to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
  • DE implementing robust continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for API and database deployments to AWS, using Jenkins and UrbanCode Deploy (uDeploy); performing automated testing and validation of Oracle database, using PL/SQL Unit Testing, Cucumber and Jmeter for API testing; performing chaos testing of APIs to ensure system resilience; and monitoring and optimizing data systems using observability tools (Power BI, Tableau, Splunk, Sitescope, and Datadog) ensuring high reliability and actionable insights.
  • DE integrating diverse financial datasets—Accounting, Corporate Actions, Alternative Investments, Digital Assets, and Index data -- into a unified data ecosystem; and applying Master Data Management (MDM) strategies and building Common Data operational stores to support enterprise-wide data governance and analytics.

  • Consults on the documentation of major technology applications.
  • Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.
  • Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Research and recommend new technologies.
  • Works across groups to identify opportunities for organizations-wide technology initiatives.
  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
  • Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
  • Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
