Overall Purpose The Director, Talent Management is responsible for creating and leading company-wide approaches to performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and career pathing. In close collaboration with the full Talent function, HRVPs/managers, Compensation team, and HR strategy team, the Director will develop clear guidance and tools to help EWS shape its talent pipeline to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Typically 12 or more years of work experience in an internal or external talent management, organization development, or organizational effectiveness role.
  • Expertise in talent management tools and processes (e.g., performance management, talent reviews, succession planning)
  • Experience with talent management tools and configurations
  • Experience applying a data-driven approach to measure effectiveness and provide key stakeholders program metrics, trends, and development strategies
  • Exceptional project management, work coordination, facilitation, and consultation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to build good working relationships with others inside and outside of HR; possesses strong collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments; possesses strong judgment and analytical thinking skills
  • Must be able to work autonomously in translating strategic priorities into complete solutions
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or PhD in Industrial-Organizational/Social-Organizational Psychology or Organizational Management or similar post graduate background.
  • Experience with talent management tools and configurations in Workday
  • Financial industry background

Responsibilities

  • Performance Management Process Design and Delivery Lead the design and execution of core processes for the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting, ongoing feedback, performance measurement and appraisal, and development or other follow-up actions
  • Collaborate with other Talent teams (i.e., Learning & Talent Development) to create the supporting tools, timeline, communications, and materials needed to bring our performance processes to life for leaders, managers, and employees
  • Build stakeholder management plans to support shifts in mindset and behaviors across the company in line with a performance culture
  • Advise HR colleagues, leaders, and managers on how to integrate performance tools and processes into evaluating employees’ performance, potential, and development priorities
  • Succession and Talent Pipeline Planning Lead the design and execution for succession planning actions, such as building guides and tools to support the planning process, defining key metrics to be measured and tracked, analyzing collected information for trends and insights, and working with HR colleagues to develop suitable action plans
  • Lead new solution design to help forecast and prepare for future talent requirements through high potential leader assessment, talent reviews, and career pathing tools
  • Develop new tools for assessing and identifying emerging leaders
  • Process and Technology Design Lead the design and delivery for other core talent processes, as needed (e.g., talent management technology platform selection/configuration, future talent management roadmap decisions, etc.)
  • Serve as the process owner for all Workday configuration activities in support of performance management, talent reviews, and succession planning
  • Develops and reports KPIs as part of core talent practice management
