We are seeking an experienced and driven Director, Total Rewards to join our HR team reporting to the CPO, Human Resources. The Director, Total Rewards is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and administration of the company’s global compensation and total rewards strategy. This role ensures programs are competitive, equitable, performance-driven, and aligned with business objectives. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, HR Business Partners, and Finance to drive compensation planning, incentive design, and rewards strategy that attracts, motivates, and retains top talent. Position Summary The Director, Compensation & Total Rewards serves as the enterprise leader responsible for designing and delivering a forward-looking total rewards strategy that attracts, motivates, and retains world-class talent. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the Director will oversee the full spectrum of compensation, benefits, equity, executive rewards, wellbeing, and recognition programs, ensuring alignment with business strategy, market competitiveness, and the company’s culture and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 10+ years of HR experience, specifically progressive compensation experience, including executive compensation design, and in total rewards
  • Deep knowledge of market pricing, incentive design, equity programs, and pay equity analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen and modeling capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and compensation analytics tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of global HR compliance, benefits administration, HR policy, and employment laws
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills.
  • Driven self-starter with a strong attention to detail
  • Proven project management, delegation, collaboration, and influence skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to tactically execute and is always intellectually curious

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s total rewards philosophy and strategy.
  • Design and manage base salary, short-term incentive (STI), long-term incentive (LTI), equity, and executive compensation programs.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Oversee job architecture, leveling frameworks, and pay structures.
  • Ensure alignment between compensation programs and performance management.
  • Lead annual merit, bonus, and incentive planning cycles.
  • Partner with Finance to manage compensation budgets and forecasting.
  • Develop tools, guidelines, and training to support managers during compensation planning.
  • Monitor compensation trends and provide data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Support executive compensation planning and modeling.
  • Prepare materials and analysis for executive leadership and Board/Compensation Committee presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with governance and disclosure requirements (as applicable).
  • Ensure programs comply with all federal, state, and international regulations (e.g., pay equity, wage/hour, tax regulations).
  • Oversee pay equity analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain strong documentation and controls to ensure audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all total rewards–related regulatory requirements, including oversight of Form 5500 filings, audits, and required disclosures.
  • Provide strategic oversight and direct the design and administration of global benefits programs, including health & wellness, retirement, insurance, and leave policies.
  • Manage benefits and wellness program brokers and vendors, ensuring effective governance, service delivery, and value optimization.
  • Develop multi‑year benefits strategies focused on value, innovation, and inclusive design. Use data analytics to monitor, forecast, and improve benefits utilization and drive innovation and employee-centric solutions that support well-being, engagement and retention.
  • Evaluate total rewards programs for cost-effectiveness and employee value.
  • Drive innovative reward offerings aligned with company culture and workforce needs.
  • Develop communication materials and training to educate our talent on total rewards philosophies, programs, and value
  • Recommends, develops, and implements policies that align with our people’s strategy and ensure total rewards programs comply with federal and state laws
  • Provide strategic oversight of leave of absence programs, including policy governance, vendor administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee compensation systems and tools
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and analytics to assess program effectiveness.
  • Leverage data to inform workforce planning and talent strategy decisions.
  • Lead and develop the compensation/total rewards team.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on compensation matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition.
