About The Position

The primary role of Disability Services Intern is to provide community outreach services and community growth opportunities within Disability Services at Bridgeway Inc. To take on more of an administrative role and to grow in that capacity, where appropriate. Direct consumers engagement to allow for helping grow the programs in all day program locations.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a college, vocational, or technical school and pursuing a degree or certification in the human services field.
  • Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, valid driver license, driving history that meets company's insurability, and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a degree in the field of human services.

Responsibilities

  • Will comply with performance best practice standards.
  • Work in all day program locations, Macomb, Pekin and Loves Park, two to three days a week rotation. Going into residential and day treatment programs.
  • Work with all department teams to create strategic plans and staff meetings with staff and consumers to help build and evaluate programs.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal requirements and Bridgeway expectations.
  • Provide community outreach to help build relationships and community growth opportunities within the company.
  • Assist staff members in further understanding of necessary requirements of disability service positions and details within each position.
  • Assist with branding and community involvement in sponsorship for annual Discover Wellness event.
  • Administer surveys to gain a better understanding for areas of growth within Disability Services
  • Provide educational support and determine training necessary to enhance engagement initiatives within consumer trainee population.
  • Provides services in such a way as to enhance consumer satisfaction.
  • Overhaul of a policy manual
  • Work on hiring and evaluation processes
  • Responsibility for a program/event
  • Meeting with all staff in all departments to help create strategic plans at an administrative level.
  • Supervisory and scheduling responsibilities of employees
  • Work closely with administrative teams to learn what their roles are and work on these areas below:
  • Reviewing funding model
  • Conflict resolution
  • HR
  • Grant Writing
  • Reworking CES intake forms
  • Professional development opportunities
