Automotive Engine Remanufacturing - Disassembly & Repair No Experience Necessary! Starting Pay: $18.50/hour and up to $20.00/hour potential (with earned MONTHLY bonuses) Schedule: 1st SHIFT ONLY! Monday – Thursday 6am – 4:30pm (10hours) Some Friday work as needed NO SATURDAYS! NO SUNDAYS! Job Description: As part of our continued growth, we are seeking candidates interested in Engine Disassembly and Repair and we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed! LKQ Corporation is the leading provider of alternative and specialty parts to repair and accessorize automobiles and other vehicles. At LKQ Reman Springfield, we specialize in the remanufacturing of automotive engines. Duties may include the following responsibilities within an assigned cell: operation in accordance to systems and procedures within the cell and to health and safety requirements, handling of material and waste between processes, quality of own work/product, daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance within the cell, participation in daily cell meetings and in continuous improvement activities, participation in cell design and controls, support the cell leader in maintenance of documentation, filling in for cell leader when necessary, and cross-training within the cell. Provide quality products. Duties may include but are not limited to performing various disassembly and repair operations on a variety of parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies and setting up and operating complex machines. Operations may include but are not limited to washing, cleaning, checking, inspecting, material handling, repairing, gaging parts, magnafluxing, (steel and zinc) shot blasting, tumbling, and prepping. This position may perform other duties as assigned or fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience required
  • Previous experience as a production worker or similar role in a warehouse
  • Good understanding of how production equipment works
  • Ability to detect potential problems with machinery
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided)
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic messages communicated orally
  • May write brief messages and keep simple records
  • Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions and procedures
  • Follows standard procedures with no decision making involved
  • Uses guidance/guidelines provide by supervisor/manager
  • Assignments/priorities provide by supervisor/manager
