This temporary position is located in 200 Park Offices Drive - Durham County with the Department of Public Safety- Emergency Management. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in HR, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • They will coordinate referrals and connect survivors with appropriate resources, including housing, financial assistance, and healthcare services.
  • The DCM will collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, non-profits, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive support for disaster survivors.
  • The DCM will provide one-on-one consultations through various channels (e.g., phone, mail, e-mail, face-to-face) to ensure understanding of policies, procedures, and expectations in an effort to assist survivors in their disaster recovery.
  • They will maintain consistent and clear communication with assigned survivors regarding application, documentation, and information on assistance available to eligible survivors.
  • This position will lead efforts to compile survivor information and submit case notes/call logs into the system of record accurately and in a timely.
  • DCM will facilitate program consultations with survivors related to intake, eligibility, and other program-related processes.
  • They will collaborate with various teams, both internally and externally, to provide solution-based responses to inquiries per policy and federal regulations.
  • The DCM will ensure compliance with FEMA and state disaster recovery regulations and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to guide the case management process.
  • This position will also maintain accurate records of survivor interactions and progress in accordance with program guidelines, Customer Service.
  • The DCM will assist survivors in understanding resources available for disaster relief.
  • They will organize and schedule appointments for phone calls or in-person meetings at a Disaster Recovery Center.
  • This position will assist in outreach callouts and other communication efforts as needed and write/distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
