About The Position

The Dishwasher Prep Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, sanitizing kitchen equipment and utensils, and assisting in basic food preparation tasks. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment or by hand as needed.
  • Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored in their designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas, including sinks, counters, and equipment.
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and ensure proper disposal according to guidelines.
  • Clean kitchen floors, walls, and surfaces regularly to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, or preparing simple menu items as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
  • Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies for the kitchen staff.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage practices to ensure food safety.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring inventory is properly organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy times.
