About The Position

Dishwasher performs all sanitation duties in accordance with regulatory standards and Food and Nutrition Service policies and procedures. Ensures a neat, clean and safe work environment is maintained. Follows proper body mechanics and can demonstrate knowledge and competency in the proper use of all cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Requirements

  • Food Handlers Card (FH) - VA State - ANSI-approved Food Handlers certificate program within 30 Days(Required) or Food Protection Manager - VA State - ANSI approved Food Protection Manager Certification - VA State (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year Dishwasher experience

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the ability to work with team members to ensure efficient supply use/storage to meet facility and budget standards.
  • Ensures that all cleaning supplies are properly labeled and stored in the appropriate storage location.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the ability to properly utilize the warewashing and cleaning equipment.
  • Handles china, glass, and silverware with care to minimize loss and damage/breakage.
  • Immediately remove any damaged service ware from service and alerts management before discarding.
  • Practices safe work habits when handling all equipment.
  • Removes kitchen trash periodically throughout the shift, always maintains clean trash cans with lids and liners and (Retail areas where applicable).
  • Maintains sanitary conditions at exterior trash bins and loading dock areas (where applicable).
  • Sweeps and cleans floors as needed throughout the shift and thoroughly at the end of each shift.
  • Utilizes wet floor signs during cleaning process.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the proper use of all cleaning chemicals and supplies ensuring chemicals dispensers are working properly and immediately alerting management when discrepancies are noticed.
  • Performs all cleaning duties in a timely, safe, and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards and Food & Nutrition policies and procedures.
  • Accurately documents dish machine and pot wash temperatures/sanitizing solution logs to ensure proof that the dishes and utensils have cleaned and sanitized at proper temperatures and alerts management when temperatures fall below regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and competency to follow established procedures on the proper set-up, cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining of all Food and Nutrition Service work areas, equipment and smallwares in compliance with regulatory standards and according to Food and Nutrition policies and procedures.
  • Ensures completion of all assigned cleaning tasks, as noted in job work flows and posted assignment sheets, prior to end of shift.
  • Alerts supervisor/manager when unable to complete tasks as assigned.
  • Works to support team effort in all task completion.
