Responsibilities and Duties: All Comply with all state and local health codes for food handling. Adhere to the personal hygiene policy. Attend all required training, in services, and staff meetings. Meet all department training standards through regulatory training and/or other necessary training modules as required. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and coworkers. All dietary department personnel should follow safety precautions to prevent accidents in food preparation according to our accident prevention in food preparation and prevention of back injury policy. Affect budgets by avoiding waste of products and time. Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Dishwasher o Maintains the sanitary condition of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, equipment, and kitchen in accordance with CJE SeniorLife standards. o Safely and efficiently operates dish washing machine according to procedure manual. o Ensures proper soap and rinse chemicals are loaded for washing. o Removes from service any dishes, utensils, and glassware that are damaged or broken. o Stocks delivered food and non-food items. o Keeps stock rooms, coolers, and freezers clean and ensures that food supply stocks are rotated, all perishables are covered, labeled, dated, and stored properly. o Empties and clears garbage bins and breaks down boxes. o Washs all carts and garbage bins. o Deep cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, and equipment. o Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment. o Ensures equipment temperature maintenance. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (Reference Essential Duties and Responsibilities). Associate must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire. Three attempts will be provided to pass this course within the first 60 days of hire. In the event that the associate does not pass the course termination will be pursued. This certification must be maintained throughout the course of employment. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
