About The Position

Cooper-Booth Transportation (CBT) is a dependable, professional, and safety-focused transportation delivery service throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Position Summary : Cooper Booth Transportation is looking for a reliable Dispatcher to create daily routes that keep costs down, but meet customer scheduling needs. The Dispatcher will be responsible for the daily dispatch of all routes and drivers. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to adjust to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule emergency delivery or pick-up for new or established customers when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout company delivery area.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Map Point.
  • Ability to learn AFS.
  • Ability to be pallet jack certified.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and adjust daily routes and make changes due to weights, cube, or customer issues, must work with Management to establish new routes in a timely manner.
  • Develop daily dispatch board and communicate with drivers as needed throughout the day.
  • Help with Driver check-in
  • Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
  • Work with Truck Stagers to insure correct trucks are staged.
  • Act as a communication liaison between drivers and management to resolve delivery or customer issues and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road as needed.
  • Communicate with out service vendors Penske and Miller for Truck Servicing.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes.
