About The Position

The primary function of the Dispatcher position is to allocate, and ship confirmed orders daily. Continuous communication with supervision, transportation, production and customer service to ensure changes, updates and product wait are captured. The candidate must be able to work a modified shift schedule when and where necessary, possess the ability to multitask and perform assigned tasks in a fast paced, time sensitive work environment.

Requirements

Basic computer skills required.
Highly motivated person who can multi-task in a fast-paced, constant-changing environment.
Team-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work 6 consecutive days, nights, weekends and overtime as necessary.
Capable of working in a cold (32 to 36 degrees F) and wet environment.
1 to 2 years office experience
High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish
AS400, Microsoft Office, and inventory experience a plus
PRMS experience

Responsibilities

Manage eight-and-nine-day product which includes transferring product in the system.
Prepare temperature recorders and sheets for all loads.
Allocate and pick print orders.
Prepare document folders for each load.
Prepare shipping query and transportation schedule for supervisors and yard jockey.
Complete daily sign out sheets.
Process any damaged and shelf life cases for inventory accuracy purposes.
Make necessary inventory transactions to ensure physical inventory matches system inventory.
Verifies all orders have been completed by looking at truck check-in option in PRMS.
Receive and address phone calls from drivers on retentions and or transportation issues.
Transact ship confirmation of daily orders.
Manifest orders as required.
Prepare product wait for production and shipping departments.
Issue Bill of Lading to drivers, verifying refer temperature, fuel level, seal number, and trailer number at departure.
Ensure proper documentation is completed for all outbound loads.
Monitor assignment queue for product allocation, assign tasks in assignment queue for picking and loading.
Monitor Yard Management System for trailer availability, make necessary transactions in YMS as needed.
Follow proper sealing procedures in accordance with Transportation Manual.
Work in a cold environment as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
