About The Position

Republic, a nationally recognized, third generation enterprise headquartered in the Quad Cities has an immediate opening for a full-time Warehouse Associate employee at our Davenport Distribution Center. Republic is one of the largest independent distributors of electrical, heating, air conditioning, energy management, refrigeration and sign support products in the entire Midwest. In addition to the headquarters in Davenport, IA, Republic has 10 branches located in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri & Wisconsin. The primary function of the Warehouse Associate role is to ensure an efficient and accurate warehouse operation through timely and precise put away of received items. This role is critical to our effective operation to assist our branches with their inventory needs to serve our customers. While the primary function is put away of goods, this role may need to support other functions of the warehouse such as unloading orders, picking orders, verifying orders or receipts of inventory.

Requirements

  • Education Required: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience Required: 0-2 years of experience in warehouse, inventory management, delivery driving, or industrial distribution preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift required
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to load and unload product from delivery vehicle.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and industrial customer environments.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using scanners, tablets, or inventory management systems preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • At the Distribution Center Manager’s direction, perform daily warehouse activities that could include receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and staging of orders
  • Ensure timely and accurate put away of all received transfer and inbound shipments
  • Ensure transfers are picked accurately and are staged in a timely manner according to the transfer schedule, verify previously staged orders as needed
  • Unload trucks and pallets as needed
  • Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse conditions
  • Help manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation processes
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of HVAC materials and equipment
  • Report quantity discrepancies, material issues or damage to your supervisor
  • Comply with all safety policies and operational best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
