The Distribution Centre Manager is responsible for leading operations at the Laverton North site, ensuring warehouse and transport activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer, contractual and legislative requirements. This role plays a critical part in driving operational performance, managing financial outcomes and leading the site through ongoing automation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience delivering third-party logistics services within a warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale operations with significant workforce size and volume.
  • Strong P&L and financial management experience, including revenue and budget oversight.
  • Experience working with WMS and exposure to automated or paperless warehouse systems.
  • Direct leadership experience managing senior leaders, supervisors and large teams.
  • Sound understanding of workplace legislation, safety, industrial relations and unionised environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end warehouse and transport operations to meet customer, safety and contractual requirements.
  • Deliver operational performance against KPIs, balanced scorecard metrics and customer expectations.
  • Manage financial performance including P&L oversight, revenue accountability and cost control initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and the effective use of automation, processes and equipment.
  • Ensure automation compliance and the correct, safe use of automation systems across the site.
  • Collaborate closely with automation technical teams and engage suppliers to support system performance, upgrades and issue resolution.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating planned and reactive maintenance schedules to minimise operational disruption.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, unions, employees, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and lead a strong leadership structure focused on engagement, succession planning and capability development.
