Salary/Hourly Rate:$26.57 Job Summary This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. The General Clerk III selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Typical duties include assisting in a variety of administrative matters; verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints. The General Clerk III also directs lower-level clerks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. Receives, classifies, reconciles, interprets, consolidates, and/or summarizes documents and information utilizing standard office equipment. Maintains files and records of documents processed. Prepares and compiles reports within prescribed guidelines gathering data from a variety of sources. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, or company employees outside the immediate work area on a regular basis to give or exchange information. Sort, deliver and pick up mail, files and/or other documents for designated areas. Additional Responsibilities Perform driving duties throughout the National Capital Region. Responsible for performing job in safe manner, with concern for others and a desire to increase production; If needed, process machinable mail (folding, inserting, sealing, and opening). Follow HAZMAT procedures for handling potentially hazardous mail. Process accountable mail utilizing accountable mail tracking system. Process unidentifiable accountable mail. May require opening and reading mail and forward to appropriate location. May require processing requests for publications. Provide coverage at offsite locations as needed. May back up other General Clerks and guide or train other General Clerks as needed. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
