About The Position

The Distribution Supervisor works consistently to emphasize and support Flexcon’s culture through outward communication and employee involvement. They set daily, weekly, monthly objectives, and communicate them to team members using visual measurement systems to track key performance indicators in comparison to plan. They are responsible for organizing and scheduling workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules. The supervisor will oversee and coach team members to ensure continuous improvement and problem solving occurs daily. Days/Hours: Friday-Sunday 5:30am - 6pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
  • 3-5 year’s working in a manufacturing environment while gradually taking on additional responsibilities.
  • Must be able to read and write written work instructions, have basic math skills, and be able to read a ruler to measure fractions of an inch.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain records, budgets, product information, and handle confidential information.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety regulations, including the Company’s environmental and safety policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading a distribution/warehouse environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred as well as the ability to learn ERP system

Responsibilities

  • Completes production plan by scheduling customer orders, assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow. (PDCA)
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Interprets customer work orders and specifications to employees and assigns duties.
  • Confers with Business Team members on issues such as customer requirements, customer complaints, job card information, and work orders in process. Updates work orders.
  • Confers with other departments and facilities about production matters. Identifies and resolves issues.
  • Determines proper inventory level and storage of packaging supplies. Orders packaging supplies from vendors in relation to target inventory levels and product turns.
  • Recommends measures to improve production processes, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Manages work assignments and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and of employee’s work.
  • Implements continuous quality improvement through Corrective Action and Preventive Action, lean initiatives, Remakes or Complaints. Focuses on Root Cause analysis and prevention of recurring issues.
  • Determines plan of action for products returned to warehouse (MRA’s). (Reregister stock top inventory, assign temporary stock code, apply to community stock donation, rework, or dispose of. Process questionable materials using QMA database. (Seek disposition from origin SME.) Label products that are on-hold and follow up for disposition.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects by providing support in creations of maps, ISO documents, how to instructions, standard work instructions, and project updates in SharePoint.
  • Develops and/or supports and assists in the development of employees based on the employee’s career interest and potential. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Interviews prospective production and shipping employees and conducts mid-year and annual performance reviews.
  • Assures that Minimum Training Requirements are completed for all assigned employees. Maintains production and shipping employee records, e.g., attendance.
  • Sends out Cert samples to designated manufacturing site. Provides samples of aged or aging materials to NE lab for compliance testing. Label aged products in stock and re-test as required. Conducts required process audits.
  • Completes daily and weekly KPI reports as part of Floor Management Development System. Develops knowledge and supports FLEXcon’s initiatives including, SDP process, interpretation of Business Process Goals, KPI measurements, and inventory control
  • Interprets and assures observance of all company policies and procedures regarding safety regulations and monitors and reports out on activities in this area. Works with Manager on assigned projects. Attends required training and meetings regarding supervisory and company issues which may require off shift attendance. Implements these principles into daily practice.
  • Must qualify for and maintain a state fork truck/lift license.
