About the position

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Outreach Assistant for the Office of Institutional Diversity at Oregon State University (OSU). The Diversity Marketing and Outreach Assistant is a student employee in the Office of Institutional Diversity (OID). This position is supervised by the Assistant Director of Outreach. This position works within OID to create marketing materials, design graphics for projects and contribute to OID's online and social media presence. The position requires a strong commitment to principles of and action for diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice. As an employee of Oregon State University, this position is a representative of the university and the Office of Institutional Diversity, which means the employee must abide by university policies, state, federal, and local laws throughout the duration of their appointment, and maintain credibility as a university and Office of Institutional Diversity representative. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining online and social media presence for OID by creating and maintaining content and graphics for the OID website and OID social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Create marketing materials, which include, but are not limited to: fliers, brochures, print and online materials
  • Edit video interviews for the annual State of Diversity at Oregon State using editing programs
  • Contribute to the development of a marketing and engagement strategy for OID
  • Support marketing efforts for OID signature events and programs
  • Create graphics for OID projects and presentations
  • Attend diversity related events to highlight and promote diversity on-campus on social media
  • Work within the University Marketing and Relations brand guidelines
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in photo editing, video editing and graphic design programs
  • Experience using PowerPoint

  • Hourly pay ranging from $15.05 to $21.50 depending on location and qualifications
